When you email, it helps to include your iOS version, iPhone model, the app version, and a short description or screenshot of the issue.
Flow measures how smoothly you drive — not how fast. Using your GPS and your phone's accelerometer, the app looks at how steady your pace is and how gentle your inputs are (acceleration, braking, and cornering). Smooth, consistent, calm driving scores high. Harsh braking, jerky inputs, and erratic pace score low. All of this is computed on your device.
No — never. Speed cannot raise your Flow score, by design. On public roads OVERDRIVE only ever scores smoothness and discovery. There are no speed or drift leaderboards, points, or rewards on public roads, and there never will be. OVERDRIVE has no lap timer, no speed zones and no drift scoring — not on public roads, not anywhere. Your average and top speed appear on your own drive screens, and on a route poster only if you choose to share it. They are never scored, ranked or part of any competition.
As you drive, OVERDRIVE snaps your GPS trail to real roads and "paints" the roads you've driven lime on a dark map, revealing your city like a fog-of-war map. Your discovery percentage grows as you explore new streets. Distance and discovery — not speed — are what you're chasing.
Motion (accelerometer) data is used only to score driving smoothness for Flow. It's processed on your device and never sent anywhere. It is never used to rank speed.
Your drives, discovery, profile and stats are stored on your iPhone by default, and OVERDRIVE has no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. From version 2.0.1 the app also sends a small set of first-party usage events to our own server (never your location, route or speed; Garage → Data → Share usage data turns it off). Some things do leave your device: map tiles, place search and directions when you ask for them, the "Snap routes to roads" setting (which is on by default and can be switched off in Garage), and the online features — your profile name, crews, friends, direct messages, drive-summary stats, and your live position while Convoy is switched on. Online features use an anonymous account created on your device, with no email address and no password. Convoy is off until you turn it on, and sharing stops when you turn it off. Deleting the OVERDRIVE app removes the data stored on your device. To delete the data held for the online features — your profile, crews, friends, messages and drive summaries — use Garage → Delete account in the app: it is immediate, needs no email and cannot be undone. You can also email hello@overdriveapps.com to have it removed or to request a copy of it.
Your first two drives are free. After them, OVERDRIVE requires OVERDRIVE Pro, as an auto-renewing subscription or a one-time Lifetime purchase:
Prices are shown in your local currency and may vary by region. The annual and monthly plans start with a 3-day free trial if your Apple ID has not had an OVERDRIVE trial before (one trial per Apple ID across both; the weekly plan has none); the trial, the price after it, the billing frequency, and how to cancel are all shown before you subscribe.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so you cancel through Apple:
1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
2. Tap your name at the top.
3. Tap Subscriptions.
4. Tap OVERDRIVE, then Cancel Subscription.
Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the current period. To avoid being charged after a free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. You can also turn off auto-renewal on the same screen.
Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find OVERDRIVE, and request a refund. We generally can't issue refunds directly, but email us if Apple can't help and we'll do what we can.
Give the map a couple of seconds to load tiles over the network. If roads aren't painting, check that OVERDRIVE has Precise location enabled in Settings, and that you granted at least "While Using the App." For screen-off recording, enable "Always." If map-matching can't be reached, the app falls back to your raw GPS trace and marks it honestly — your drive is never lost.
Never ranked, and never scored or rewarded: this is the core promise of the app. Leaderboards rank distance and Flow only. Your average and top speed appear on your own drive screens, and other people see them only if you choose to share a route poster, which prints them.
